Territorial Justice
The Arizona Rangers headquartered in the Arizona town that most needed them. During 1903-09, that town was Douglas. An analysis of justice of the peace records shows why.

The Underpass

Douglas and the country recovered from the Great Depression because of federally-funded projects that put people to work.
Among the Douglas landmarks built in the 1930s was the underpass.

Women of Douglas
Oh! the stories some remarkable Douglas women could tell. Hazel Carter donned a WWI uniform and went to Europe with her husband. Pancho Villa bounced Douglas businesswoman Carmen Loftis on his knee when she was a child. Lizzie Leake walked from Texas to settle in Douglas.

Book-length biography of B.A. Packard
He came to Tombstone in 1880, his ranch spanned the U.S. - Mexico border, and his Douglas bank helped to finance the Mexican Revolution.
