Douglas and direct current

Belgian-born engineer Charles Legrand installed a direct current electrical system in Douglas' Copper Queen smelter in 1903. He was also involved with a 60-mile direct current power line to the Sonoran mining camp of El Tigre.


 
Mexican Revolution
This November will mark the 100th anniversary of the start of the Mexican Revolution. Many of the leading figures were from the northern states, especially Sonora.

 


 
Book-length biography of B.A. Packard
He came to Tombstone in 1880, his ranch spanned the U.S. - Mexico border, and his Douglas bank help to finance the Mexican Revolution.

 
Douglas Physicians
The physicians who called Douglas home were a remarkable group. One was a surgeon for a Mexican Revolutionary faction, one ran an abortion clinic, and one was an expert in X-rays.
