History was never a boring
subject for me at Douglas High School, and I was fortunate to have
outstanding history teachers at Cochise College and the University
of Arizona. Thanks Larry Christiansen and J.C. Mutchler!
During the years I worked for a
small daily newspaper and then for a trade magazine, I wrote many
history articles. My research techniques emphasized personal
interviews, public records and newspaper articles.
Those techniques
and my journalism background make
Borderland Chronicles
stories succinct
and enjoyable, but they don’t ignore life’s complexities nor its
connections.
I apply the same
standard to the books I write, and to the research I conduct for
myself or clients. That research can lead to
Borderland Chronicles
articles, and
sometimes research I’ve already done benefits a client.
I’ve never thought
history was a boring subject. I suppose that’s because I see history
simply as people’s stories that are connected together. Subscribe to
Borderland Chronicles,
and I’ll convince you of that.
